A Brief History of Peter Brock

peter-brock.jpg Peter Geoffrey Brock was born to parents Geoff and Ruth Brock on the 26th February, 1945 in the rural area of Hurstbridge some 40klms North East of Melbourne. The second of four boys, Peter developed an interest in cars at an early age building and driving cars around the family farm from an early age. In 1967 Peter made is racing Debut in an Austin A30 “Spirit of England” which he had built himself. He quickly made a name for himself as gifted driver, winning many races in the A30. 

He had his first drive at Bathurst in 1969 as co driver to Des West in a Holden Dealer Team Monaro, which they drove to 3rd Place, after winning the Australian Sports Car Champion. He went on to claim The Mount Panorama Circuit as his own with an unequalled 9 wins to top off a stellar career unrivalled in this country and is considered one of the top 20 drivers of all time on the world stage.

Peter died on the 8th September, 2006, in a racing incident in the West Targa Rally in Western Australia. He will be sadly missed by his adoring fans , family and friends, but never forgotten.
